All the Small Things

I decided after Natalie turned one year I would stop doing monthly updates, but there have been so many little things she's done since that I thought I would share them.

-She can feed herself pretty well with a spoon now! She almost refuses to let us feed her anything, she thinks she's big stuff. It's a helluva lot messier letting her go at it alone but it's the only way she'll eat and it's also really cute seeing her be so independent.

-She hates sitting in her highchair so yesterday I upgraded her into a little booster seat (it has a security belt and straps onto the the chair) so she can sit at the table and eat. Again, she looks so cute sitting like a big girl at the table so independently.

-The cutest thing she does is give kisses and makes a "mmm-mwah" noise.

-She isn't much of a talker (probably because she just points at something and squeaks and we jump up and get it for her) but she does communicate very well. She seems to really understand what we say and will nod yes and no to things. Anytime she wants something, anything, she will sign "more" for it. I.E. if she wants to go upstairs, she'll point up the stairs and ask for more. One day she found a picture of Matt and starting crying, pointed at him and asked for more. It was so sweet and funny.

-She does try to say a few words, including but not limited to: owl, star, heart, apple (she says that one pretty clear), and Da-da.

-She makes up little games, like taking an object, putting it behind her back and then shrugging and looking at us like, "Where did it go?"  then she'll pull it out and giggle and do it all again.

That's pretty much all I can think of. (I know you were just dying to read more about the little things someone else's baby does.)

I always thought I would be sad as she got older and older, but it just keeps getting better and more fun everyday!

I slicked her hair back after a bath. She doesn't even look like the same baby!
She always hesitates to do it but she really loves going down this slide at the park.

LOVE that fuzzy coat. And I think you should catch the 'hiding' game on camera and get it posted up here!!

Super cute! Such a big girl!! Tay always says more (and signs it) when I sign to her. She's the ONLY person on this planet who wants me to sing more. :)

She is so pretty!! :) I love the kissing. Alidia is kissing everything and everyone lately and I can not get enough of it! Melts my heart. What sort/brand of boaster are you using for her? I think we would like to do this with Alidia soon, at least at lunch when she eats with our school kids so we don't have to move her usual seat every time.

I agree, I thought it would be sad to watch them grow up but it is just so much fun!! The more they learn and grow... I just love it. Not sure if that will be the same at age 15, but we'll see! ;)

Thank you!

The seat was a hand me down from a friend, I just went to check what brand but there's no name on it! Shows what great friends I have, giving me their crappy old no name stuff. :p

I think it's a great idea to get one though. I'm probably imagining it, or it has nothing to do with the fact that she's sitting at the table, but she seemed to eat a lot better at lunch yesterday when sitting in it. I think she is too concerned with trying to escape from her high chair to worry about eating most days, so maybe it did have an affect, who knows...

I kept the monthly posts going too and will due it until Chloe is 2. Then I finally have to pry myself away from them I think. A friend teased that Chloe will be sick of stickers when she's older, meaning the number stickers I put on her each month. :) She sounds so fun right now and full of personality! And she totally looks like a different baby in that first picture, but beautiful as always. Man, those eyes!!

You have to do the updates! It's the little things you are going to want to remember when she gets older. :)

SHE IS SO ADORABLE, SEAN! :) I love reading about her updates and I'm not the only one who loves to hear about Nat!

So cute. Love that coat

I've been debating continuing with the monthly posts. I think I will though not necessairly the stickers on the onesie pictures each month. If I don't write the updates on the blog I will forget everything.

I really did want to hear those updates. SO CUTE. I can't believe she did that with Matt's photo. Adorable. Miss you guys.

It's funny because I was the same way...I'm not a "kid" person so I was always like "ugh, what if I stop enjoying her when she's not a baby anymore" (pret.ty.stupid. I'm aware but...hey, that's me)...I'm pleased to find just the opposite has happened! I literally love hanging out with her and the older she gets the easier she gets and the more fun we can have!!! Nostalgic, yes, but also really happy to watch her grow!

I DO like reading all the little things your baby girl does. It is beyond adorable that she is asking for "more Daddy", I love that! I totally agree that it's surprisingly fun to watch them get older, I don't miss the baby days because it keeps getting more fun!

Aww she's getting so old. Baby kisses are my favorite thing ever!
It still surprises me sometimes when I say something to Chloe and she actually understands. Like to go get her baby. I really love this baby age.
