Subject Suggestions

I admire bloggers who can consistently write every day or every other day or even a few times a week.

I don't know what it is but every so often (okay, about every week) my mind goes completely blank and I have nothing to post about.

I'll be on a roll, posting pretty frequently and them bam! I get stuck.

I'll think I have an idea for a post but in the middle of writing it I get sidetracked or busy or lazy or just think it sounds wrong.

I sometimes want to rant on about something that annoys me, like work, or TV shows but worry about sounding whiny or petty.

I sometimes want to talk about my sex life, or relationships or my marriage but know that that might be a little too much for a blog that consist mostly of baby related ramblings. Also, my mother in law reads this and I don't want too much awkwardness between us next time we eat dinner together.

I would really like to be able to write more often, besides a boring daily update of, "We went to the park, ran some errands, I changed a dirty diaper..." and so on.

So if you have any subject suggestions you'd like for me to talk about then feel free to let me know (it can be absolutely anything).

If you're anything like me at all though then you have a hard enough time thinking of your own topics and can't advise anyone else on what to say.

Ugh.. I have the same problem... I'll go for weeks without something to write... So last week I decided to just start writing about things I want to look back and remember... things that made me laugh or pause or feel something... post pictures I want to look back on.. pretty much just using my blog as my own personal diary/scrapbook that I let other people see.

I never have ideas, that's why I'm so boring.

I don't know much about your husband. You should tell us more about him. Or about your typical day. What you were like in high school.

I guess I'm all full of ideas now.

You can keep posting pictures of Natalie and I'd still come back. :)

(although, and I hope this doesn't sound creepy, but I love sex and relationship material too)

I have the same problem. I feel like people will get sick of hearing about our everyday things and pics of the kids....but then I don't care! It is for my memory :) And I agree with Shannon, pics of sweet Natalie would be enough for me!

I think we all struggle with this. I mean who has THAT much to say all the time? Or I might have something to say but by the time I get around to documenting it, it just seems silly or not worth the mention. Check out this site though....they have blog prompts for every month. I just recently found it and don't have a lot of time to post in December but hope to use this in January!

I wanna see your trashed house! I love real life posts... they make me feel normal. (Sidenote... I love that we have the same blogging schedule and are always both up at midnight)

I sometimes think I should be writing about more exciting subjects, but what I know is my life, so that's what I write. It's enough.

I started out my blog as a fashion on a budget blog...for moms. But I kept my everyday life out of it, just posted pictures of outfits or things I got a good deal on. Then reality hit. I can't shop all the time. And I don't even get dressed daily. So...I switched over to a lifestyle blog and it just pours out of me! Do you follow lots of other blogs? Get inspiration from what they're doing...what are you passionate about that's not mom related, just Sean related? That might help fill the blanks? I just adore how you write so I.WANT.MORE. :))

Yep! I have this problem too! I've never done it but some of the blogging networks/sites have prompts occasionally. I know BloggyMoms does. I think they suggest topics and then a bunch of people post about the same topic on the same day and read each others posts. Sounds fun in theory but I haven't been able to make myself do it yet :)

Oh, I'd love it if you ranted about TV shows, or even movies!
But I don't think it's a problem if one can't come up with anything for a while, I think everyone has had that "problem" at some point. I'd say just right when you feel like it, and whatever you feel like writing about! No matter the topic, if you feel like discussing it, this is your blog after all.
All the best!
