Strange Eyes

One of the first things I wondered while pregnant was what my child was going to look like.

Would she have dark hair and brown eyes? Brown hair and light eyes? Light hair and dark eyes...

... you get the idea.

I asked the nurses in the hospital when we would know Natalie's eye color. They said at six weeks. I patiently waited but they stayed the same shade of steel blue as when she was born.

Maybe around four months is when we started noticing a lot of brown in her eyes. The right eye is mostly brown with some bits of blue left in it. The left eye is mostly blue with flecks of brown. In certain lights they both look brown and sometimes they look hazel or green. They really aren't a defined color which makes me believe they'll both end up changing.

For now it's kinda cool to have a freaky eyed baby though.

Definitely born with my attitude.
At what age did your baby's eye color set in?

That's kind of cool! Chloe's eyes have been a perfect light blue since she was born, so I think she's stuck with blue. No surprise, since both her parents have blue eyes.

OMG - you and I are so eerily alike sometimes.

I have a Taylor eye color post ready to go. I could have written this. Sometimes they look really brown, hazel, green and even gray.

She'll probably end up brown eyed (like me), but for now, I love looking at the transition.

And Natalie's eyes are GORGEOUS. And that little serious pout is ridiculously cute.

Her eyes are seriously magical. How cool to have those steel blue color specs. Drew's eyes have been blue since birth and haven't really changed so I think at 18 months they are pretty set!

she is just precious. By the way your previous post just made me laugh for like ten minutes straight!

I commented the other day that I think her eyes are amazing!! I bet you have fun dressing her up and bringing out the various colors in her eyes. I'm surprised the nurses said 6 weeks, I always erred on the side of caution and thought a full year, but even then I've heard they can change.

I think they're beautiful! So cool and unique. It will be neat to see if they do change. My husband's eyes have more green in them now than when we met 16 years ago. They were just brown but are now a gorgeous hazel :)

I am constantly wondering this too! Gemma's seem to be hazel? Bluishgreenishbrown? I think they have a lot of changing left to do too. Natalie is beautiful! I love her sweet little expressions. She's going to be a deep thinker, I think!
