Lunch Time Fun
I thought the rice cereal I've given Natalie on a few occasions might have been too bland for her to really enjoy it, since each time I've given it to her she seems disinterested. So I decided to give her carrots today. That didn't work out too well either.
She didn't want me feeding her so I finally gave up and just let her dump them all over and mush 'em around. She did put the container in her mouth and might have actually swallowed a little bit of her food though. I really did have a fun time watching her play and I know she enjoyed it too. After I cleaned her up she got fussy and took a bottle so I know she was hungry during meal time. What can I say? She knows what she likes and doesn't like.
Waiting patiently. |
"Alright, where's the grub?" |
"Hello there spoon." |
"Hmm, what's this?" |
"Of course. Something tasty for my mouth." |
"Uh, maybe not!" |
"I'll just play with it." |
"Hey, why'd you take it away?!" |
"Screw it. The high chair taste better anyway." |
"I stand by my last thought." |
"I'm six months. I can feed myself Mom." |
"Yep, I know exactly what to do." |
"See? Told you I could do it alone." |
"Check this out! I'm such a big girl." |
"Yeah, I got this lunch thing down." |
"Aren't you proud of me, Ma?" |
"Hehehehehe...." |

I love the captions under each picture! It's hard when they are picky eaters. You can always reintroduce it again later. But letting her play with it and try 'feeding' herself is a good idea too!
The captions make these photos. You are a brave woman. I hope you weren't on a carpet!!
And Natalie manages to look adorable even covered in orange goo!
Hehe I love the captions. Chloe STILL isn't interested much in food. I hope you have better luck. It is kind of fun letting them play with the food though.
Hahaha I love it! We were just watching videos of Leah in her high chair (she has the same one!) making a mess with baby food. Now we have a hard time even remembering her that little!
oh my, I just giggle for like 20 minutes at those pictures! She is SOOO cute!!!
I never realized how thrilling dinner could be (actually I did) until my little guy started eating solids! It is so fun to watch them enter into the exciting world of eating and to discover what they love and what they wont touch!
The captions you wrote are so funny and she of course is darling.
Oh my gosh, the mess!! I have really had to take a step back and let Chloe do things on her own, even if that means she will get messy and dirty her outfit. I don't know why that bothers me so much, I didn't realize it would until we got to this point. But Natalie sure looks cute deciding on her own what to do with those carrots! :) I love that you just let her go to town with them.
that's awesome...the "oh screw it..here kid, eat how you want" idea is so funny! i'm sure i'll be the same way!
Heheeee.... AH SOOOO crazy cute! Love that little munchkin face mama. WOW. She is one opinionated smart chickeee, just like her mama! YO.
I actually miss those messy baby food days! Man, I got the baby fever BAD man!
Adorable! So nice you were able to capture it :) Some of those faces are hysterical.
Ahhh this is hilarious! Eating food like that looks like so much more fun, Natalie is doing it so right. Seriously cracked up at the "hey why'd you..." and "uh maybe not" photos, and obviously the one's where she is practically snogging the high chair tray. She's so funny.
My brother actually eats very similar to this. He is 19 and a half. Maybe I should start to worry. Or not.
