First Rice Cereal

You'd think after not blogging for awhile I'd have something more interesting to say but I don't. We gave Natalie her first "solid" food last night. Instead of mixing it in with formula we just made it super watery and fed it to her straight. She didn't have a very big reaction to it. We didn't have a baby spoon so we used one the size of her face. She got the cereal everywhere, especially on Daddy. She's back to waking up three or four times a night. I am going to try filling her up more before bed with the hope of her sleeping longer and rice cereal is a good way to go. I think I'm going to hold off for a little longer before giving her other baby food like fruits or meat. I'm really in no rush for her to grow up any faster!

Other than that, I wanted to update about my work schedule. I am almost a full time stay at home mom. I changed my work schedule around for personal reasons. One of which to be with Natalie more. I'm happy about this change for now. I really hope I don't go stir crazy though. I try and get out as much as possible but the weather has been rainy lately and I also don't drive. I'm going to look for some local book readings or other baby activities close to me. I love the area I live in and think it will be pretty easy to find. If anyone has some suggestions on (preferably free) activities for us to do during the day then let me know.

Apparently everything but food is for her mouth.

Hahahaha, so sweet. She just seems to be going with the flow.

Taylor puts everything into her mouth and the first few times we put puffs on her high chair tray, she picked them up, looked at them, and dropped them. I have no idea why she chose FOOD to be the one thing that doesn't go into her mouth. Luckily, she's learned they are quite delicious! :)

Haha, she seems a bit indifferent about the rice cereal. We only gave it to Chloe twice and then went straight to solids. I think it's great that you are able to stay home with your little love! I wish I had ideas for you of things to do, maybe a stroller jogging group, or pool play dates? The library is a good idea too.

My boys always did better with the rice cereal if it wasn't too watery. That way they could actually get it in their mouth! I'd look into your local library, gym or pool for Momma and Me times, plus try Meetup.com for playgroups in your area!

Haha so cute!
That's cool that you are staying home more BUT it is hard on rainy days when you don't have plans. The days are loooong! Try to meet other mommy friends for playdates. Maybe look for a local mall with an indoor playground for her to crawl around and watch other kids, and yes the baby story times at libraries are good. I didn't find a group of mom friends until Leah was about 18 months old because it is harder when they are young and can't interact with eachother. But you will eventually!

Oh my gosh she is changing so much, it's incredible how fast that happens. As far as helping her sleep maybe a bath before bed would help tire her out a little. Hopefully as she gets used to the food and eats more her belly will fill up more.

Ha ha. I love it! William was funny when he had rice cereal for the first time too. I hope you don't go stir crazy either. I know how that is though. Yeah libraries are good, playgrounds are good as well, and church is where I meet a lot of other mom's and stuff to hang out with. Whatever you do, just spend as much time with Natalie as you can. :) Hope all is well! Have a great week and weekend!

Cute! LOL at the expressions on her face, especially the third one!

Fun! But that last picture she's like "wow, this whole eating rice cereal thing is rough! Where's my bottle?" :)

That's great that you have the flexibility to stay home with Natalie more, it will be a blessing for both of you I'm sure :)

Awwww she looks so sleepy on the last one! And wow, she has a serious concentration face when eating! When I did work experience at a nursery about 4 years ago, I had to feed the babies on numerous occasions, and it is safe to say I did not expect it to be so messy. Mashing up a nice looking meal into mush was not pleasant. Hopefully I will not be feeding any more babies for a loooong time.
That's pretty crap the weather is rubbish. Is Natalie too young to be playing with paint and stuff? I don't know how old babies have to be to do crafty things.
(By the way, thanks for the lovely comment you left and for taking the time to watch it!)

She looks like she's not so sure about the cereal. Ha. Still cute as ever though.

That's great that you are able to be home more with Natalie!

p.s., what do you mean by you don't drive?? Like you don't have a drivers license or you don't like to drive??

OH heavens how flippn cute! Gosh, I remember the 1st bite of big kiddo food days. UG, it's just all goes by too fast. How great that you are going to be able to be home w/ your lil love muffin more! I admit, I sometime get a little stir crazy too, but you just have to remember to also get some "you" time in every now & then. Even if it's taking a bubble bath, a walk, a girls night/date night... whatevs. It, for me, makes all the difference in the world! Though my cute lil Jaxy munchkin can be super naughty at times, being able to stay home w/ him is such a blessing! Happy hump day pretty mama!

Jax & I go to the library for a reading program. He loves it!
