Hope everyone had a good Presidents Day. I mean Verterans Days. I mean...

Anyone know the history behind Labor Day? There seem to be a lot of little holidays that are just thrown in the year to give people Mondays off. I'm not complaining about having an extra day to spend doing nothing, just curious. This was yet another typical weekend. Lately we've been wanting to go on long drives with no destination in mind. It's so relaxing to roll the windows down, enjoy the weather and look at pretty scenery. You know what else is fun? Not having any idea it's going to be cold and wet outside and wearing a sleeveless dress and flip flops to work while everyone else is dressed appropriately. It's not my ideal fall day since it's gloomy and came so suddenly but today definitely feels fall-esque.

Now on to one of my favorite parts of fall: fashion. I haven’t purchased a single maternity item and am 12 weeks away from having baby, so I don’t think that’s going to happen. I find my options are much broader when I shop for regular clothes just in larger sizes. I’ve also found that maternity clothes aren’t so flattering and a bit expensive. This summer has been easy since I have been living in dresses. Fall should be somewhat easy too. Leggings, boots and tunics. The only hard part is going to be having to put some effort into getting dressed in the mornings. Slipping on a dress and heading out the door has spoiled me a bit. I put together a collage of items I love, most of which are simple fall staples. I didn't bother to look at the price tag of them while composing it on Polyvore (some of these items are outrageously expensive) because honestly I can’t afford to shop anywhere but Target and Ross anyway. I will definitely be looking for bargains on articles like the ones below though.

Most of my maternity clothes are summer clothes, and since I only have 3.5 weeks left, I find myself at a lost for these last "chillier" weeks.

Today I'm wearing one of my blazers on over a short sleeved maternity blouse, obviously unbuttoned. I have a feeling I'll be doing that a lot these last few weeks.

LOVE your style, & LOVE that you shop at Target & Ross. Me too. I love fashion, but I am a bargain shopper to the core. You are the prettiest preggy lady, you seriously just glow!

Hi, thanks for following my blog. Stopped by yours and I am now following it. I live only a few hours away from you. We're also expecting a girl December 1st.

Anyway. None of that had anything to do with this post. Just wanted to stop by and say hi. :)

Sean Marie, you are darling! Love the collage of goodies in this post. I definitely think you will be able to finish your pregnancy in style.

Also, thank you so much for your sweet comment over at my place; I needed that!

Love the boots. I wonder if the US H&M stores will sell them. You'd probably get away with layers. One of your dresses, leggings, and just a sweater/cardigan unbuttoned. I'm a new fan form 20SB. I'm recently married too (one of very few of my friends!). Congrats on the baby....;)

Yikes! Why are those leggins over $1000! I really do like clothes (and have way too many according to husband), but sometimes I don't really understand fashion! I do quite like that tunic/kaftan top though.

I too didn't buy a many maternity things, just loose dresses. I saved that money for clothes after the baby.

Just found your blog! Looks like we have a lot in common :) I'm due at the end of this month and have done the same thing with clothing (as much as possible).

i love fall and winter fashion!! :D which is so strange since i'm from a country that is non-cold climate all year `round -___- zzz. such nice things you've put together! my favourite is the oasis kaftan top pairing with the single breasted jacket. congrats on the baby, btw! :D (know i'm new here so i'm somewhat behind on the news) when are you due?

Ashley from Sloanbook September 11, 2011 at 1:35 AM

Oh my gosh you haven't bought anything?! Impressive! When I get pregnant I want to buy lots of clothes! Actually I always do haha. But it is a good excuse. Cute fashion board! :)

Isn't it nice to be a tinier person? I look forward to never having to buy pregnancy clothing when that time comes. Much nicer to buy regular sized things. That said, I totally need to start buying more cold weather clothing.
